Organic Integrity of Our Products
Organic Production through Small Holder Partnerships: All products of Khyati Foods are farmed by small holder farmers. These farmers partner with Khyati Foods in groups of five hundred farmers organized with an Internal Control System (ICS). These organic grower's groups (OGG) are established, organized and maintained through effective farmers' selection, contracting for organic production, training and by frequent internal inspections to ensure compliance to organic standards. Training and extension services are a continuous support provided by Khyati Foods to the organic growers groups.
External Verification by Third Party Certification Agencies :
Each OGG of the group of farmers working with Khyati Foods is inspected by third party certification agencies accredited by Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). The verification is done to measure compliance to organic standards of Europe (Council Regulation (EC) 834/2007 and (EC) 889/2008), USA (National Organic Program), Canada (Canadian Organic Regulations), Switzerland (Biosuisse Standards) and Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS).
Certification Status :
Compliance verification is done by inspections during every cropping season in combination with several unannounced surveillance audits and testing of samples. Depending on the duration of practice of organic farming by the farmers – they receive 1st year under conversion, 2nd year under conversion and certified organic status. The produce of in-conversion to organic is sold as non-GM crop and produce of certified organic farmers are sold as organic.
